Yazman is primarily called as a Gateway to the Great Desert of Cholistan. It is the largest Tehsil of District Bahawalpur on account of area. Yazman is actually a seven to eight decades older city. It is situated at a starting point of Cholistan, at a distance of 32 kilo meters from Bahawalpur Yazman. Tehsil is situated in a remote corner of Punjab province. Yazman Tehsil having a population of 4,45,275 souls( Census 1998). Out which 3, 70,200 are inhabitants of colony area and 75,075 persons are residing in vast desert of Choolistan. The Tehsil is divided in to 18 Union Councils.
