It is said that once Emperor Akbar the Great was travelling the area and met a saint whose name was Hafiz Mustafa Bukhari. The emperor was very much impressed by the hospitality of the said saint and asked him for reward. The saint desired for the creation of town. The emperor ordered for the creation of town on the name of Syed Hafiz Mustafa Bukhari as “HAFIZABAD”. Hafizabad was given the status of a district w.e.f 01-07-1993.

Municipal Corporation Pindi Bhattian is constantly putting its best efforts to combat the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic and to control its harmful impacts. In this situation, MC is performing various activities to stop the spread of pandemic in line with directions of Government of Punjab.

Government of Punjab has established new local government system under the Punjab Local
Government Act (PLGA) 2013 after dissolving PLGO 2001. The Chairman and Vice Chairman
have joined their offices and new local government system has started functioning.
